Thank you for your interest in visiting the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center!

We look forward to inspiring you with the life and work of Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin (1852), a complex and controversial novel which galvanized the anti-slavery movement. Our tours address the history of slavery and racism as they relate to the abolition movement and the Civil War, as well as inequities then and now. We use participatory tour methods with visitors with the idea that audiences bring their perspectives to discussions on the tour.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our small historic interiors, the Stowe Center can accommodate eight people per tour.
